D-DAY TO VE DAY
TERMS & CONDITIONS
If you wish to participate in the D-Day to VE Day tour, it is your responsibility, a the "Customer" to read and understand our terms and conditions which are set out below in this document and to confirm your agreement either by signing the booking form provided and/or providing written confirmation by e-mail.
Bookings and Payments
- Bookings will be taken on successful purchase at the event auction. The full amount due will be payable within seven days of the auction purchase and a confirmation will be sent to you by email at the time of receipt. If you fail to pay the full amount within seven days of auction purchase, you will lose you tour seat and it will be re-entered into the auction.
- Payments are to be made via Stripe account (or in extremis bank transfer), details of which will be provided to you at the time of purchase. All monies paid to D-Day to VE Day will be kept in trust until such times as your tour has been completed.
Cancellations
- If you cancel your booking and withdraw from the tour, notification to D-Day to VE Day must be made in writing and the following terms apply:
- over 60 days before its commencement - a 90% refund will be given.
- under 60 days but more than 14 days before its commencement - a 50% refund will be given.
- under 14 days before its commencement - no refund will be given.
- Should any customer decide to withdraw from the tour after its commencement, no refund will be given.
- D-Day to VE Day reserve the right to cancel the tour or part of the tour if the number of participants are insufficient to make a tour or part of the tour viable. Should this situation arise, notification will be provided 4 weeks prior to the date of the commencement of the tour. If we have to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, this would only be in exceptional circumstances, and we would look to offer you an alternative. If this were not possible or acceptable, we would issue a full refund.
- If any participant behaves in a manner which either endangers or causes distress or discourtesy to others, then D-Day to VE Day reserve the right to ask that participant to leave the tour and no monies will be refunded in this situation.
Amendments and/or Delays
- If a significant change of route or destination is required due to circumstances out of our control, we will notify you as soon as we are made aware. Wherever possible we will look to overcome any situations which may arise causing delay or change, however, we cannot be held responsible for those delays and changes which are beyond our control such as train/ferry delays, weather conditions, traffic congestions, terrorism, war, or industrial dispute.
1940s Vehicles
- D-Day to VE Day utilises 1940’s vintage vehicles and therefore there is a likelihood of mechanical breakdown during the tour. We will endeavour to minimise the impact to the client’s tour experience, however catastrophic mechanical failure may result in an adjustment to the tour.
- The vehicles operated by D-Day to VE Day meet all UK national safety standards applicable to vehicles of this age, and D-Day to VE Day maintain them to the highest mechanical standards. However, these vehicles are equipped with the safety measures of their time, consequently, they do not have seat belts, airbags, SIPS, doors or other modern safe features. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, clients acknowledge these reduced safety features and accept the risks associated with travelling in such a vehicle.
Responsibilities
- D-Day to VE Day accept responsibility for providing you with a tour experience as near as is possible to that described to you in our tour information.
- Should the customer you be delayed on route to the departure point / RV Point for the start of a tour, it is the responsibility of the customer to notify D-Day to VE Day of this delay and to make their own arrangements to meet at a subsequent re-arranged meeting point.
- It is the customers responsibility to provide their own insurances appropriate to this event, such as but not limited to: medical & repatriation, travel, 3rd party / Public liability.
- If any incident occurs that may cause delay to a tour, the appropriate procedures will be adhered to. D-Day to VE Day will take all necessary steps to keep all members of the tour fully informed of the situation.
Privacy Policy
- This privacy policy details how we at D-Day to VE Day treat any Personal Information that you provide to us. Any Personal Information that you provide to D-Day to VE Day will not be forwarded to a third party without your prior consent.
How do D-Day to VE Day use your information?
- Any information you provide to us will not be forwarded on to any other party without your prior consent.
- The details you provide to us are used for the purpose of ensuring that we have the correct information when you have booked on a tour with D-Day to VE Day.
- Your e-mail address is used to communicate with you with regard to the tour and any future events. You can remove yourself from future communication by "unsubscribing" in you D-Day to VE Day account.
- We ask for a contact telephone number in case of any query which may arise where we are unable to contact you via e-mail.
- On booking with D-Day to VE Day you are asked to provide an “In Case of Emergency” contact, the details provided are also covered under this privacy policy and will not be forwarded to a third party.
Security of Information
- D-Day to VE Day will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to avoid unauthorised access or disclosure to a third party of any personal information provided to us. D-Day to VE Day reserve the right to update and amend this policy and we would request that you check the document periodically to ensure that you are aware of our latest Privacy Policy.
